COMAIR STRIKE RESOLVED

Comair staff, who downed tools last week in demand of a salary increase, have reached an agreement with the Company, putting an end to the week-long strike. According to multiple reports, the parties have agreed on a 23% increase over three years – 10% this year, 7% next year and 6% in 2018. The United Association of South African (UASA) trade unions was originally demanding a 35% increase over the same period some a compromise was reached. Comair has maintained that minimum disruption was experienced by its passengers during the strike. In a statement, the airline said this was largely due to its passengers checking in online and arriving early at the airport.
