Lyndon founded Aurora Tourism in 1995 after moving to Johannesburg from London, and after acquiring corporate travel management business: Tripos Travel. In 1999, he moved to Cape Town together with Aurora and the Tripos Head Office, retaining responsibility for significant operating activity in Johannesburg and the United Kingdom. Lyndon served as Chief Executive Officer of Aurora's main South African operating investment, Tripos Tourism Investments, from 2007 to 2016, during which time he completed a black empowerment deal with the Sekunjalo Group, and subsequently restructured the business. Lyndon currently manages the investment portfolio alongside various other business interests, and is based in Cape Town.
John joined Aurora Tourism in 1996 following his appointment as Chief Financial Officer of Tripos Travel in Johannesburg in 1996, where he remained until emigrating to the United Kingdom in 2000. After this move, John assisted Aurora with the acquisition of Hyperion Travel Ltd in 2002 which is based in Hungerford. He ran Hyperion Travel up until it was sold to management in 2013. Throughout this period, John has served as a director of Aurora Tourism Investments Ltd and currently assists the company with administration and financial management. John is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and has various other business interests in printing, property and accounting services, which he runs from Salisbury in the United Kingdom.
Sally has been a Director of Aurora Tourism since it was founded in 1995, initially as a non-executive. Sally's background is in merchant banking and education. In 2005, she founded Footprint Communications in Cape Town which provides professional communications consulting and training services to both the corporate community and to tertiary education institutions. Sally is an English language expert and has authored over 30 English text books for various publishers, including Oxford University Press. Over the years, she has assisted Aurora with both strategy and marketing, applying her communications expertise. She continues to run Footprint and is based in Cape Town, and assists Aurora on a part-time basis with general strategy.
